Collection: Birdwatching from Kumana Ntional Park

Located along the South Eastern coast of Sri Lanka, the Kumana National Park is home to large flocks of migratory birds who fly in during the cold winter as well as resident local birds making it a much visited place by bird watching enthusiasts. The park is considered to be one of the most important nesting and breeding grounds in Sri Lanka while over 255 birds have been recorded here. The Kumana National Park swamp area can be seen flooded with thousands of birds who migrate mainly during April to July while rare species such as the Eurasian Spoonbill and the Black-necked Stork can also be spotted.
